BECOME A WIREMAN-WOMAN AT MATRA ELECTRONIQUE

19 June 2020

Every year, our Human Resources teams are forming groups of 10 to 12 trainees – called “waves” – who will be trained as cable installers in our internal training school.

To set up these groups, information meetings are held with interim staff and job applicants in order to present them the profession of electronic cable operator, unknown to the general public.

People are then invited to do aptitude tests followed by a motivational interview. Once selected, the trainees join the training during 2 and a half months.

This training begins with the theoretical and practical aspects of the profession and continues in production workshops where they are supported by a tutor. Their mission is to transmit their professional skills, their knowledge and to advise the new wireman-woman throughout the discovery of his new role.

After more than 10 years, this training and recruitment system has proven its worth at Matra Électronique. Today, nearly 80 employees come from these “waves”.
