This research project focuses on a Touch Interaction Module that could allow people with visual impairments to access digital applications and geolocation features from their smartphone.

The sense of touch is implemented through 16 pins that lift up to form a pulsed signal in Braille language.

The students and teachers of the Technological University of Compiègne aspire to a wider deployment of these applications and work on more implementations such as the teaching of mathematics, geometry, games, website navigation, geolocation… in order to empower people with visual impairments.

Matra Électronique is proud to participate in the manufacture of prototypes of boards intended for the production of the M.I.T.
